I caught The Coen Bros. first film Blood Simple last night. I’d heard about this movie for years but never given my self the privilege to check it out. The first movie I saw by them was probably Raising Arizona before they were on my radar as incredible Writer/Directors. Since then I’ve moved forward with their careers and dipped into previous films at the same time. It’s nice to see some of the stylization they currently use popping up in a film from so long ago (1984). In Frances McDormand’s first film she shines in this role along with all the other supporting actors. There are some beautiful shots throughout this film and they use the landscape like pros a la their work with No Country For Old Men. If you haven’t seen this flick I highly recommend taking a look back at it.
